What Is Niacinamide?

Niacinamide (also called nicotinamide) is the active form of Vitamin B3. It’s a water-soluble vitamin that plays an essential role in how skin cells produce energy and repair themselves.

Can I Use Niacinamide and Vitamin C Together?

Niacinamide vs. Commonly Confused Ingredients

Is niacinamide the same as niacin (nicotinic acid)? No. Both are forms of Vitamin B3 but are distinct molecules. Niacin causes blood vessel dilation and noticeable flushing; niacinamide does not, making it safe for daily topical use.

Is it related to nicotine? Not at all. Despite the name similarity, niacinamide and nicotine (the compound in tobacco) have completely different molecular structures and no chemical relationship.
